What Is BeSuccessful?

BeSuccessful is a collaborative initiative that brings together community organizations, service providers, employers, and residents under a shared commitment: that every family in our communities deserves a real pathway to stability and success.

The Urban Community Network serves as the backbone organization for BeSuccessful — providing the leadership, coordination, and infrastructure that makes collective action possible. No single organization can address the complexity of community challenges alone. BeSuccessful is how we change that.

What the BeSuccessful Network Has Achieved

Multiple Workforce & Job Fairs Hosted

BeSuccessful has brought employers and job seekers together through multiple workforce fairs across Houston — creating direct connections to living-wage opportunities for hundreds of community members.

Credible Messenger Implementation

The network has implemented Credible Messenger programming, deploying trusted community voices to mentor and support at-risk youth and their families throughout Harris County.

CDL Workforce Initiative Launched

BeSuccessful launched a targeted Commercial Driver’s License pathway, opening doors to sustainable, well-paying careers in an industry with strong regional demand.

Second-Chance Pathways Created

The network has developed intentional second-chance workforce pathways, partnering with employers committed to fair-chance hiring and connecting returning citizens to meaningful employment.

Partnerships Established Across Houston

BeSuccessful has established more than 60 plus partnerships across Greater Houston — spanning service agencies, employers, educational institutions, faith communities, and government entities — building the collaborative infrastructure for long-term community transformation.
